A school could be any primary or secondary school or combined P-12/K-12/R-12 school in the Government, Catholic or Independent sectors and special schools.
However, it can’t be a non-educational institution or setting that offers schooling offsite.
A community partner could be any local business, retailer, health provider, service club, sporting group or government body. It could also be a library, retirement village, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Apex, Lions club or another education institution such as TAFE, university, adult community centre or neighbourhood house.
As part of its commitment to the National Partnership for Youth Attainment and Transitions, the Commonwealth government has funded the establishment of a national network of School Business Community Partnership Brokers (Partnership Brokers) to build partnerships that support improved education and transition outcomes for all young people. Partnership Brokers create new partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships to enrich the learning experience for young people and support improved participation and engagement with education. These partnerships increase business and community engagement with schools and foster a whole of community approach that supports young people’s learning and development.
