Congratulations to our 2010 Award Winners

Schools First would like to congratulate all of our 2010 Award Winners
11 October 2010

Impact Award Winners in NSW, ACT, SA and WA have today been announced with 34 schools receiving $50,000 towards their successful school-community partnership.

This year, Schools First has awarded $5.2 million to 107 school-community partnerships across Australia in both the Seed Funding and Impact Award categories.

Jodi Cryan, Head of Schools First, said she was very impressed with the calibre of applications received this year.

"This year, we received 880 high quality applications from a great cross section of amazing partnerships around Australia."

"More than 20% of Australian schools have submitted an application for a Schools First award in the first two years of the program, confirming there is a need for the support and recognition that the program provides."

"It's great to see that there are many outstanding school-community partnerships taking place in schools across Australia which are positively contributing to the educational outcomes of young people."

"Congratulations to all of our 2010 Award Winners and thank you to everyone who submitted an application this year."

Impact Award winning schools are now in line to be named as State/Territory Award Winner and receive a further $50,000 towards their partnership. State/Territory winners will be announced as follows:

  • QLD - 20 October
  • WA - 21 October
  • NT/SA - 22 October
  • VIC/TAS - 26 October
  • NSW/ACT - 27 October

State/Territory winners will then vie for the title of National Award Winner. The National Award Winner will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on 26 November and will receive an additional $400,000.
