2011 NAB Schools First Award Winners Announced!
15 September 2011
Congratulations to the 110 school-community partnerships who have today been announced as the NAB Schools First Award winners for 2011.
This year, NAB Schools First received 863 high quality applications. Of the winning schools across the country, 60 received $50,000 Local Impact Awards, with another 50 receiving a $25,000 Seed Funding Award.
Impact Awards are allocated to schools whose community partnerships are already taking affect and are having a demonstrated impact on students, while Seed Funding Awards are provided to schools that are in the early stages of a partnership.
All Impact Award winners are now eligible to become their respective State/Territory Impact Award winner and will receive an additional $50,000 towards their school-community partnership. Each State/Territory Impact Award winner will then be in the running for the National Impact Award where their total aggregate awards funding will be $500,000.
State/Territory Impact Award announcements will be made on the following dates:
- QLD - Tuesday, 18 October 2011
- VIC and TAS - Thursday, 20 October
- SA, WA and NT - Tuesday, 25 October
- NSW - Thursday, 27 October
NAB Schools First began in 2009. By the end of this year, NAB’s flagship education initiative will have awarded $15 million to 310 schools around Australia.
This year’s award announcements coincides with confirmation that the program will continue.
