2009: the year that was

2009 has been a wonderful first year for Schools First. Receiving 1552 applications – 797 for Impact Awards and 755 for Seed Funding Awards was fantastic.

It has been inspiring to unearth the many school-community partnerships already established or starting to happen around Australia. Here are some more facts and figures about who applied from where.

2009 Applications received – by state and territory

The standout states were Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland – so there’s a huge opportunity for the other states and territories next year!

In 2010, we are keen to take Schools First to the next level and look forward to your continuing support as this program goes from strength to strength. Next year we will be conducting workshops again across the country, launching online workshops and holding the first ever Schools First Week.
