Providing opportunities for pregnant and parenting students
Canberra College in ACT has partnered with the Child, Youth and Women’s Health Program from ACT Department of Health to support the needs of pregnant or parenting students.
Their CCCares program provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for educational and health services for their students. It’s resulted in greater student engagement and connection with external health agencies, higher rates of certificate completion and an increased sense of belonging.

Supporting students and their family
Maroochydore State School in Queensland partnered with SunnyKids to connect disengaged students and their families to support services within the local community.
The School Children in Primary School program is empowering families to better their 'own' situation and helping their children engage more fully with their education.

Encouraging students to take ownership of their destiny
Four schools in the Leeton district of NSW have formed a partnership with LYNVET LYNKS to create an innovative workplace-based learning program.
Leeton Narrandera LYNKS is helping young people between 13 and 19 years make a successful transition from school to the world of work, further study or education.

Opening up the world of science to female students
Santa Maria College in Melbourne partnered with ARC Centre for Excellence to try and increase interest among females in undertaking academic studies, particularly in the physical sciences.
Growing Tall Poppies is giving Year 10 students a greater awareness of the possibilities and richness of science, learning beyond the classroom and recognition that it's important to continue studying sciences into Year 12.

Building connections and positive outcomes in a community
Karama Primary School in the Northern Territory partnered with The Smith Family to help create improved wellbeing and academic proficiency in the school.
The partnership is improving students’ motivation and their sense of achievement. It’s also increasing parents’ knowledge of and involvement in the school so they can support their children’s learning efforts.

Reshaping focus to meet student, staff and industry needs
Windsor Gardens Vocational College partnered with Bianco Construction Supplies and others to do something about declining enrolments, poor staff morale and an increasing student dropout rate.
The 104 partnerships covering industry alliances and sponsors, mentoring and community partners have benefited all involved. The school culture has changed and vocational education is recognised and valued. Even their definition of ‘success’ has broadened.

Building choices and self-esteem for students
Claremont College in South Australia joined forces with the Housing Industry Association to provide opportunitites for youn and potentially disengaged students to discover whether or not they want to pursue a career in building.
YouthBuild is providing young people with self esteem and a sense of pride as well as better preparing them to make informed decisions about their career path.

Creating an innovative educational environment
Redcliffe Primary School in Western Australia and local businesses collectively known as The Partnership Group came together for an ambitious program of school reform including having an Integrated Curriculum Model.
Through a broad range of changes from redesigning the curriculum and professional development to upgrading resources and developing assessment, this partnership has created innovative and child-centred school programs – and increased enrolments.

Connecting young and old through recording history
Mount Carmel College in Tasmania and Southern Cross Care, have started a program where students create photographic records of the lives of residents in an aged care home.
In its early stages, the program is likely to affect the lives of all involved. It teaches students about ageing, encourages them to use their skills and helps them develop a sense of civic responsibility The elderly will gain a sense of value, connect with young people and enjoy the recording of their personal story.

On iTrack to Success
The Smith Family in Melbourne have an online mentoring program, iTrack, which helps students from a number of schools get career advice and guidance from mentors in some of Australia's biggest corporations.
iTrack is an excellent example of how partnerships between schools, non-profit organisations and the corporate sector can create new opportunities for students, regardless of whether they're based in the city or country.

'Chess Squared' illustrates how Winters Flat Primary School in Castlemaine, Victoria partners with their local Chess Club.

The Last Post
Newport Lakes Primary in Melbourne provides a unique learning experience for their students by working with members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to include exciting music programs.

A partnership between Sylvania High School and Our Lady of the Way Retirement Village aims to enhance existing geography studies for students.

Sustainable Construction
In Brisbane, 70 students from 16 schools across the city, including Mt Gravatt, are taking part in all aspects of the building, construction and design of a three-bedroom house that’s energy efficient and relocatable.
